irix-il-c15-l-i-camera-lenses-specialty-lenses
Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 Ultra Wide Cinema Lens (L Mount) with Imperial Scale (Feet)

The Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 L Mount lens gives filmmakers an expansive 15 mm perspective while covering a 43.3 mm full-frame image area. Its T2.6 maximum aperture supports work across varied lighting conditions, while the refined optical design helps maintain a neutral image with low distortion and focus breathing close to zero. The imperial focus scale provides distance markings in feet for crews that prefer an imperial workflow.

Wide Coverage with Refined Optics

The optical system uses 15 elements, including 3 high refractive elements, 2 extra low dispersion elements, and 2 aspherical elements. This construction supports sharp detail and controlled aberrations across the wide field of view. The aperture adjusts from T2.6 to T22, while 9 rounded iris blades support smooth out-of-focus rendering. Irix rates the optics as 8K-ready for high-resolution cinema production.

Manual Control for Cinema Workflows

The focus ring provides 180-degree rotation, while the aperture ring provides 75-degree rotation. Standard 0.8 M gears allow integration with compatible follow focus equipment. A 95 mm front diameter supports common cinema accessories, while the 86 mm filter thread and Irix Magnetic Mount System provide multiple filtration options. Laser-engraved markings use UV-reactive paint for improved visibility in low-light working environments.

Weather Sealed Metal Construction

The aluminum and magnesium alloy body combines durability with a listed weight of approximately 1.96 pounds. Weather sealing helps protect the lens from moisture, sand, and dust during outdoor work. Matching cine-focused dimensions and gear placement across the Irix Cine family can also simplify lens changes when working with stabilizers, matte boxes, and follow focus systems.
