Its 40-degree grid pattern narrows the light spread to direct illumination toward the subject while reducing unwanted light spill and lens flare. This helps maintain separation between the subject and background without sacrificing the soft quality of light produced by the softbox.

Precise Light Placement

The egg crate design controls light spreading away from the softbox in four directions, making it useful for hair lights, rim lighting, and accent illumination. By limiting light on nearby backgrounds and surrounding areas, the grid helps create depth and definition in portraits, interviews, and other controlled lighting setups.

Quick Attachment and Flexible Diffusion

Designed specifically for the Medium Apollo 28 inch softbox, the grid attaches to its recessed front using built-in hook and loop fasteners. It can be used with or without the Apollo diffusion panel, giving photographers flexibility to adjust light direction while retaining their preferred level of diffusion.

Lightweight and Collapsible

Made from nylon, the lightweight grid collapses for convenient transport and storage. Its simple attachment system makes it easy to add or remove directional light control between setups, whether working in a studio or on location. The Medium Apollo softbox and lighting equipment are sold separately.
