Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 8x12G SFP (Black)
Eight-channel,
bi-directional 12G-SDI 2110 IP converter for optical fiber that includes eight
10G Ethernet SFP modules. Features a status LCD and control panel, and it
supports HD and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p60. The purpose of this converter
is to enable 12G-SDI broadcast equipment to support SMPTE-2110 IP video. In
order to use optical fiber Ethernet modules over long distances, the Blackmagic
Design 2110 IP Converter has a 1RU design with 8 independent bidirectional
12G-SDI to SMPTE-2110 IP video converters using SFP modules. There is a 12G-SDI
program return input that sends to all channels in addition to the 12G-SDI
inputs on each channel. This implies that you can send a single 12G-SDI input
from a single connection to every device that is connected.
Construct Expert SMPTE-2110 Broadcasting
Systems
The purpose
of the Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters is to incorporate SDI gear into 2110 IP
broadcast systems. The equipment you're converting can be placed directly next
to the rack mount model in equipment racks. Moreover, the majority of
Blackmagic SMPTE-2110 IP video products have remote power capabilities.
However, if you add converters, you can convert all of your video equipment to
SMPTE-2110 at a reasonable cost. To enhance live production switchers, disk
recorders, streaming processors, cameras, TVs, and other devices, just
incorporate a Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter.
Meets the SMPTE-2110 IP Video Standard Requirements
The SMPTE
ST-2110 standard for IP video, which describes the transport, synchronization,
and description of 10-bit video, audio, and ancillary data over managed IP
networks for broadcast, is met by Blackmagic 2110 IP products. Additionally, it
can lock external equipment to the reference output that is also produced by
the PTP clock or resync SDI inputs to a shared PTP clock. SMPTE-2110-20
uncompressed video, SMPTE-2110-21 traffic shaping or timing, SMPTE-2110-30
audio, and SMPTE-2110-40 for ancillary data are all supported by Blackmagic
2110 IP products. Additionally, Multicasting is an effective way to distribute
data, audio, and video from a single source to several destinations, and it is
supported by Blackmagic 2110 IP products.
Utilizes Cost Effective 10G Ethernet
For basic
Cat6 copper cables, Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters are available in 8x12G SFP
with RJ-45 connectors or SFP sockets for optical fiber modules and cables.
Building SMPTE-2110 systems can be done significantly more affordably by using
basic Cat6 copper cables. Ethernet switches for 10G Ethernet are widely
available, and the cables are straightforward. You can use the cables you
already have because 10G Ethernet is typically already installed in modern
buildings. Copper cables can also be used to remotely power electronics like
cameras and converters. Ethernet over optical fiber has models as well.
Compared to 25G or 40G Ethernet, 10G optical fiber is substantially less
expensive. Even the 12G-SDI module is usable.
Exceptionally Simple to Install
One of the
main issues with SMPTE-2110 is that video systems require an IT technician to
be on call in order to continue operating. This issue is resolved by Blackmagic
2110 IP converters, which allow point-to-point connections, eliminating the
need for complicated Ethernet switches when not in use. This implies that
SMPTE-2110 IP video benefits can be obtained with basic Ethernet cables, remote
power, and bidirectional video. It resembles an SDI workflow exactly. Rack
converters allow you to use a single cable to control all camera functions,
program video, power, and tally. Alternatively, for remote monitors, connect an
HDMI converter to a rack converter. Everything just functions and configures
itself automatically.
Easy Point-to-Point
Point-to-point connectivity between the converters can be established using a basic Ethernet cable. A rack and a monitor converter or camera are two examples. There are no settings to enter because the point-to-point connection automatically configures. It's a straightforward cable that simply plugs in. Point-to-point connections provide the ideal solution for live events because an Ethernet cable can simplify the process of connecting to cameras by carrying all power, video, and control through a single cable.
