Blackmagic Design Videohub Mini 8x4 12G Compact Video Router with 12G-SDI Connection (Black)
The Blackmagic Videohub Mini 8x4 12G Video Router in Black is a small, latency-free video router that can simultaneously support any combination of SD, HD, and Ultra HD. In a small 2/3 rack width footprint, it features 8 12G-SDI inputs, 4 12G-SDI outputs, and reference connections for securing clean switch outputs. You may easily route a video connection using the front panel control panel, which also has a USB-C webcam video out and an emergency 12G-SDI port for patching in extra equipment. Additionally, it supports all SDI video standards up to 2160p60 and has external Ethernet control and SDI re-clocking. With a 2/3 rack width, this is the largest model.
No More Cable Messes
Videohub's Blackmagic All kinds of SDI broadcast equipment can have additional inputs added to them using mini routers. Because of their compact shape, they occupy relatively little room in mobile racks with restricted space. ATEM switchers can have additional inputs added, while HyperDeck recorders and streaming encoders can have input choices added. It can also be used to give visual monitors additional inputs. Routers are great because they allow you to modify connections without having to patch cables in the middle of a project. You can attach equipment to the SDI connections on the front panel in the event of an emergency or urgent client demand. This implies that you don't need to rewire your rack to deal with unforeseen circumstances.
Router Control and Video Patching
The Blackmagic Videohub Mini's front panel features buttons specifically designated for inputs and outputs, allowing for quick cut-bus style switching. Just choose the destination button and then hit the source button to route a video connection. Although the routers are made to fit onto compact, portable racks, that gives you all the routing control you need. For patching in external equipment, the front panel also features 12G-SDI video connections. When video is attached, the front panel input connection will take precedence over the highest rear input connection. Additionally, a USB webcam output on the front panel allows you to connect a computer for streaming applications, video scopes, or recording. You can use the front panel connections if you need to plug in external equipment immediately. The 8x4 model features 12G-SDI out, and all models have 12G-SDI in. Additionally, a USB-C webcam is available. It features top-notch input selection buttons that, when hit, cause the source to switch instantly to the chosen outputs. The desired output is selected using the output button, and when you hit the input buttons, this output will be modified. Press the output button first, then choose the input button to route.
12G-SDI Routing Advantage
All Blackmagic Videohub Mini models have multi-rate, sophisticated 12G-SDI connections that can handle any SD, HD, or Ultra HD video format up to 2160p60. This implies that any SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, or 12G-SDI equipment can be connected. Additionally, any video standard can be routed simultaneously on the same router with Blackmagic Videohub Mini. You may switch between different video inputs with ease and the SDI output standard will automatically adjust with 12G-SDI, which provides you with high frame rate Ultra HD with a single BNC connection that also works with all of your traditional HD equipment. You receive future-proof technology with 12G-SDI that works with both your current and future equipment.
Personal Clean Switch
A 'clean switch' feature found in all Blackmagic Videohub Mini versions guarantees steady video transitions when alternating between sources. The clean switch function is distinct, though, as it is configured on each output rather than the inputs. This is significant because the re-sync processors required for the clean changeover can add or subtract video frames. To prevent excess frames from being inserted, you may set a HyperDeck recorder to a non-clean switch direct feed. Meanwhile, a monitor or streaming encoder router output could use the clean switch, guaranteeing smooth source transitions. On the 8x4 model, the clean switch will lock sources to either input 1 or the reference input.
Complete SDI Re-Clocking
Every 12G-SDI input on all Blackmagic Videohub Mini variants has integrated SDI re-clocking. To guarantee the best possible video quality and avoid SDI data mistakes, SDI re-clocking regenerates the video signal. Given that longer video cables weaken the transmission, this is crucial. Expensive premium 'digital' cables can help a little, but they can't completely stop the loss of signal integrity brought on by longer cords. All of your equipment will receive a regenerated signal with improved jitter performance if you reclock all of the SDI devices in your studio. Longer cable lengths and no video dropouts are the results of this.
Emergency Patch Connections
The front panel of the Blackmagic Videohub Mini has immensely helpful 12G-SDI patch ports for immediate video access. You won't unplug anything important by accident because you won't have to fiddle with cables in the rear of a rack. That's excellent for adding external equipment in an emergency. Or a client needs you out of the blue. Every model has a 12G-SDI input on the front panel that, when attached, overrides the highest rear video input. A front panel 12G-SDI output, which is the same video as the highest output number, is another feature of the 8x4 model. Since inputs and outputs are the least frequently used connections on any video router, it is best to choose the highest inputs and outputs.
USB Webcam Output for Computer Video
Because the router's front USB-C connector doubles as an HD camera video source, you can live stream straight from the front panel. Any video program can be used with a computer connector.
