Construction

The EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM lens is comprised of 17 lens elements in 13 groups. Super UD (ultra-low dispersion) elements offer improved image quality in a more compact package. Super Spectra Coating and Air Sphere Coatings minimize ghosting and flare. Optical placement of the lens construction has been improved to bring the center of gravity closer to the rear. This allows for you to position your lens more easily for fast framing. Increased Heat Shielding reduces the thermal effects on the lens to maintain quality throughout the life of the lens.

Image Stabilization

The Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM lens features 3 distinct 5.0-stop IS modes to help you find the perfect image every time. The image stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to 5 shutter speed stops. Standard single-shot mode gives you simply perfect still images. Panning-optimized mode gives you blur-free images across a scene. A third IS mode only activates when you are using the exposure.

Control Ring

A customizable electronic manual focusing ring ensures you get just the right shot at just the right moment. The USM (Ultrasonic Motor) provides excellent AF control and results, aided perfectly by the customizable focusing ring. You can fine-tune your focus manually even when autofocus is in use.You can precisely and quickly adjust the focus with three sensitivity levels.

Durability

The EF 600mm lens was built for excellent performance in the toughest of conditions. This lens was built with a magnesium and titanium construction for a durable and lighter weight design. Fluorine coating was placed along the barrel to keep soiling, smears and fingerprints to a minimum.
