The Leica SL3 60MP Camera takes advantage of the BSI CMOS Full-Frame Sensor with Triple Resolution Technology housed in a solid all-metal body with leather, elevating its sophisticated charm. The SL3’s sensor records files in DNG or JPEG format at a resolution of 60, 30, or 18 MP. The camera features a 15-f-stop dynamic range with a 50 to 100,000 ISO range, offering outstanding image quality in the most compromising light conditions. Carrying on Leica’s legacy of introducing quality products that stand the test of time while offering the latest innovations, the Leica SL3 is the first-of-its-kind full-frame sensor camera with a 3-inch tiltable high-resolution screen.
Improved Auto Focus System
The Leica SL3 combines the power of phase detection (PDAF), depth mapping (Object Detection AF), and contrast recognition (Contrast Detection AF) for razor-sharp pictures in poor lighting. The intelligent subject recognition supports taking images of dynamic scenes.
Versatile Mounting
The Leica SL3’s lens bayonet is based on the L-Mount standard developed by Leica. It is compatible with a range of ultra-wide to super-telephoto zoom lenses offered by L-Mount partners. The lens bayonet allows system compatibility for this camera. The unique design of the image sensor and an external light sensor maximizes the use of the renowned Leica M-Lenses. It has an integrated in-body image stabilization that broadens the applicability scope of the M-Lenses.
Elaborate Optical System
The Leica SL3’s EyeRes viewfinder features an optical system with glass lens construction. This helps to show the subject in crystal clear form, up to 120 frames per second with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels. The camera is equipped with a tiltable 3-inch high-res touchscreen that is further enhanced by its creative viewing angles.
Video Recording
The Leica SL3 lets you record videos in a resolution of up to 8K with support for codecs like H.265 and ProRes by Apple. The camera boasts a time code interface that lets you sync professional images and sound on set. The new Maestro-IV processor with L2 technology helps in this regard, thanks to its ability to handle an ample amount of data. The Leica SL3 can continuously record video till file space and power support are available.
Enhanced User Interface
The SL3 features a new UI. The grip, button layout, and overall camera design sport a new look that helps in easy handling. The updated icons and menu allow the user to stream through functions with ease. There is a distinct separation of photo and video modes with a pre-specified color code for differentiation, where red is for photo mode and yellow is for video mode. The user interface aligns itself in landscape or portrait format, depending on the camera position.
Durable and Ergonomic Design
Housed in a robust all-metal design boasting an IP54 certification, the Leica SL3 60MP camera is handmade in Germany, ensuring durability for years to come. It allows photographers to focus on capturing any shot, regardless of the weather and environmental conditions. The camera has an operating temperature of -10 to 40 degrees Celsius (14 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit).
Newly Designed Interface
The camera has a newly designed interface that allows a seamless workflow. It features CFexpress type B and UHS-II SD slots with a USB-C port for high-speed data transmission, tethering, and power supply. The camera even has a full-size HDMI 2.1 output for external monitors or other recording equipment. The presence of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with MIMO technology lets the photographer transfer the images to the Leica FOTOS app. The SL3 is a certified Apple ‘Made for iPhone and iPad’ device that, when used with its included USB-C cable, allows for a hassle-free connection to Apple products.
