Offering fast, accurate phase hybrid autofocus, the LUMIX S5II mirrorless camera is designed to deliver excellent performance in both photo and video. The 24.2-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor complies with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus) with 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 image stabilization and an imaging engine that's been developed to achieve high resolution, natural description, and approximately 2x higher-speed signal procession for high bit-rate video recording. With the high dynamic range and broad colors of a 14 plus stop V-Log and V-Gamut capture, and an advanced heat dispersion mechanism for unlimited video recording and live streaming, the S5II is developed to meet the demands of ambitious creators with an assertive shooting style.

Firmware Update

Listening to creators’ needs, S5II Firmware V3.0 and S5IIX Firmware V2.0 deliver efficiency in both production and post-production workflows, providing important time (and therefore cost) saving benefits. The firmware updates improve the shooting experience and enhances sharing functionality - compatibility with Adobe Camera to Cloud (Frame.io) and Proxy video recording; improved basic performance with improved real-time AF recognition system (animal eye, car, and motorcycle recognition); enhanced E.I.S. performance by adding HIGH mode in the E-stabilization (video) and a perspective distortion correction.

14 plus stop V-Log and V-Gamut capture delivers a high dynamic range and broad colors, plus a REAL TIME LUT function is provided to enable in-camera photo and video color grading, with LUT6K 30p Open Gate unlimited recording.

Unlimited Video Recording

The heat dispersion mechanism combines a small fan and high-efficiency heat sink to achieve unlimited video recording while keeping the camera size compact.
