With the interchangeable diffuser in the
Profoto Softbox 4-Feet Octa Diffuser Kit, you can select and switch between
various degrees of softness. The diffuser's purpose is to distribute light more
evenly and soften it, which lessens harsh shadows and produces a lovely,
organic appearance. Moreover, the diffuser can be used as a neutral density
filter when using long exposures or low apertures, for example, a 0.5 f-stop on
the diffuser produces a slightly softer light. Because it's simple to install
and remove, you can quickly switch between different setups with the diffuser.
