User-Friendly in Size Display with a 2.25-Inch Touch Screen

The wide, user-friendly 2.25-inch touch screen display improves operability greatly. Without having to connect to a smartphone, you may preview the situation before taking a shot, modify shooting settings, and browse images you've taken on the touch panel.

360-Degree Still Image and Video Capture in High-Resolution

The core processor, CMOS image sensor, and lens design have all been updated. It is now able to record high-resolution 360-degree still photographs with a maximum output of roughly 60MP thanks to the addition of a new sensor with approximately 48MP. There are two image sizes to choose from depending on the situation: 11K for high-resolution bright-light indoor photography and 5.5K for quick and easy image shooting in other situations. Furthermore, improved picture stabilization allows for vibrant and smooth 360-degree video capture at a 5.7K-equivalent resolution of 5760 x 2880 pixels at 30 frames per second (fps).

Easy to Switch Batteries and Memory Cards

The THETA X is the first camera in the RICOH THETA series to use a replaceable battery (Rechargeable Battery DB-110). In addition to the 46GB of internal memory, an external microSDXC memory card can be used to expand storage space. Users may shoot for lengthy periods or capture a large number of photographs without worrying about battery life or storage space.

Enhanced Compatibility with Smartphone

By establishing a Bluetooth connection, the THETA X may simply connect to a smartphone without the need to enter an SSID. MIMO wireless communication technology and real-time processing, such as top/bottom correction while shooting videos, allow for faster transfers of still images and videos from the camera to the smartphone.

Improved Camera Expandability

The THETA X, like the THETA V and THETA Z1, runs on an Android-based operating system, allowing third-party developers to create and release programs (plug-ins) to enhance the camera's functionality. Furthermore, the camera's huge touch screen display expands the possibilities for plug-in development greatly. It is now possible to set up the ‘client mode’ (a mode that allows the RICOH THETA to connect directly to a wireless router) without the use of a smartphone. This enables plug-ins to be added and firmware to be updated without the need for a computer or smartphone, making it simple to expand functions to meet the demands of the user.
