This series includes 65mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary, a compact, short telephoto prime lens delivering extremely fine details even wide open at its maximum aperture of f/2. This full-frame-compatible lens offers mirrorless users a combination of superb optical quality with exceptional portability.
Optical Performance
The 65mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens delivers excellent optical performance even at a maximum aperture of f/2. It combines the latest optical design with advanced processing technology. Its optical design uses a pair of glass-molded aspherical lenses that correct spherical and chromatic aberration, as well as astigmatism. Axial chromatic aberration is corrected by SLD glass letting you capture sharp detailing.
Beautiful Effects
This I Series 65mm f/2 Lens is capable of producing beautiful bokeh effect. Thanks to the lens’ spherical aberration control, the reduced vignetting effects help curb lemon-shaped or swirly bokeh giving you a greater control over the out-of-focus areas. Plus, the Sigma-standard anti-ghosting and anti-flare technology ensures high-end performance in backlit conditions.
Quiet Focusing
The 65mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens’ smooth focus drive system uses a quiet and fast stepping motor that allows for quick, near silent focusing, making this lens a suitable choice for shooting video.
All-Metal Build
This I Series lens comes with an all-metal construction. It features precision-cut aluminum parts that give the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, but provide superb durability. Metal materials are also used in internal structures that slide with the operation ring for added robustness. Plus, the lens has a cover ring between the focus ring and the aperture ring that functions as a finger hold when attaching or detaching the lens.
