SIGMA LH706-02 Push-On Petal Type Lens Hood for SIGMA 10-18 mm F2.8 DC DN Lens

The Sigma LH706-02 Lens Hood is the newly-developed push-on petal type hood included with the SIGMA 10-18 mm F2.8 DC DN lens. Contrary to most bayonet type lens hoods that are attached through a rotating movement, this lens hood can be attached via spring and lever system. Adopting this new design has resulted in a decrease of size and thickness of the hood, making it match the compact size of the lens.
Compact Throughout
The new push-on petal hood is attached through a spring and lever system, and is not used by other manufacturers currently. Its new design has adopted a smaller and thinner structure.
Better Mobility
The hood’s compactness has affected the overall compactness of the lens, including the length of the hood, letting photographers better utilize its mobility.
Diameter Difference
The SIGMA 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN’s filter diameter is 12 mm larger than that of the SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN in order to provide a wide angle view. But the hood diameter only has a difference of 3.8 mm as the push-on mechanics ensures that it has a thinner build.
Attachment and Removal Methods
Please note that the installation method is different from that of bayonet type hoods.
