Sensor Matches the VENICE 2
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera features a full-frame sensor matching the VENICE 2, delivering extraordinary image quality and low-light sensitivity. It offers 16 stops of dynamic range, Dual Base ISO (800/3200), and VENICE color science for natural, accurate skin tones. The camera allows filming in full-frame or Super 35 formats and supports resolutions from HD to 8K.
Electronic Variable ND Filter
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera features an Electronic Variable ND Filter, allowing filmmakers to use maximum latitude and range. It includes Clear ND and Linear Variable ND Filters with 7 stops from 0.6 to 2.1, which can be adjusted in single-step increments or gradually.
Cache Recording
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera features cache recording with an adjustable prerecord function to assist with unpredictable events. It can be modified depending on the resolution and recording codec. The short setting is 5 seconds, the medium setting is 10 seconds, and the long setting is 20 seconds. The max setting depends on the codec.
Internal Recording Options
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera offers efficient internal recording options, including recording 16-bit RAW or 10-bit video codecs on CF Express Type B cards (VPG 400). It supports recording in 16-bit RAW X-OCN LT and 10-bit video codec options, including XAVC H (8K H.265 HEVC) or XAVC (H.264).
In Body Image Stabilization
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera features in-body image stabilization with adjustable settings depending on the lens mount. When using a PL-mount lens, image stabilization can be set to off, low, or high. With an E-mount lens, it can be set to off, standard, or active (or high). Active stabilization is only available in 5.8K imager modes when recording in XAVC. Note that active stabilization does not function when recording in X-OCN or when S and Q are enabled.
Autofocus
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera features Fast Hybrid AF with touch operation support, enabling quick and accurate focusing. It utilizes an AI processing unit for subject recognition when paired with an E-mount lens. The camera is equipped with a 627-point focal plane phase-detection AF system, covering approximately 89 percent of the image area.
Designed for Single Cameras, Operators, or Small Crews
The Sony BURANO Digital Camera is designed for single camera operators or small crews. It is 1.5 inches shorter and 3 lbs lighter than the VENICE 2. All menu options are on the operator side of the camera, with audio inputs located on the opposite side. The camera features 8 assignable preset buttons on the main body and viewfinder.
