It offers around 90 scene types, even at night and in backlit scenes. For easy reference, al the selected settings are displayed as icons on the LCD screen. This camcorder lets you choose manual settings for iris and shutter speed control when shooting under backlit and underexposed conditions, as well as in other situations.

Face Detection

The HDR-CX405 Handycam records in Full HD video at 60p/50p in the progressive recording mode, which includes twice the image data of movies recorded in interlace mode. The images are as smooth as those shot at 60/50 fps, and each frame is recorded as one full picture. As a result in stills captured from a movie recorded in progressive mode are extra sharper.

The Highlight Movie Maker is a versatile tool that streamlines movie editing and offers several time-saving features. It allows you to add highlight markers to key moments while recording, and let the software automatically sync your transitions to your chosen soundtrack.

Dual Video Recording

The handycam is capable of recording two movies simultaneously — one in the maximum-quality XAVC S or AVCHD format and another in MP4 format. The Dual Record mode gives you a small file ready for instant sharing as well as a professional-grade file for further editing. It also lets you shoot HD video and high-resolution still images simultaneously to capture the best shot in both ways.
