It features an internal zooming and focusing model that supports the use of RF Extender 1.4x and 2x throughout the 70-200 zoom range. This telephoto zoom lens is the perfect solution for several applications. With an optional, dedicated Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E2, transform the video operation while using this lens, opening doors to numerous possibilities with its versatile zooming. Even in low light, this lens works excellently, making it the perfect choice for weddings and other night events. An ideal lens for indulging in photojournalism, portraiture, studio work, and video creation, this modern zoom lens looks stunning in the white thermal barrier finish.
Optical Performance Like No Other
With a large diameter RF mount and short back focus, the Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z achieves a maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout its zoom range enabling you to continuously shoot up to the most used 200mm without the need for switching lenses This opens a world of possibilities in both photography and movie shooting. The lens is compatible with both RF1.4x and RF2.0x Extenders allowing for even more range of 280mm and 400mm respectively.
Power Zoom Adapters Support
The Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z Lens allows the use of the optional Power Zoom Adapters PZ-E2 and PZ-E2B to enable smooth, high-precision zoom control remotely via use of Canon Camera Connect and EOS Utility apps during movie shoots. The Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E2 has a 20-pin port for compatibility with cinema or broadcast lens accessories like the Digital Zoom Demand ZSD-300D or the Digital Focus Demand FPD-400D. The combination of lens and lens adapter makes it easy for single-person video shooting operation.
Rich and Round Bokeh Effects
The lens features eleven aperture blades and a large f/2.8 aperture producing the most beautiful circular bokeh effect - even when stopped-down, all thanks to an 11-blade aperture. The wide aperture makes room for faster shutter speeds in low-lit conditions, thereby minimizing distortion and blur.

The Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z Lens has an iris ring (for aperture control) that allows videographers and photographers to control exposure adjustment and the degree of background blur manually while shooting.
Close-Focusing of 1.6 Feet with 0.2X Maximum Magnification
With a minimum focusing distance of approximately 1.6 feet (0.49m), the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z lens helps you get close to your subjects. The maximum magnification of 0.3x at 200mm allows you to capture subtle details more expansively and clearly. Focus shifts during zooming are minimal - plus, it supports focus breathing correction, in which the camera digitally corrects for changes in the angle of view caused by focus movement during video recording, especially during closeup shooting.
Optical Image Stabilization
Delivering sharp results consistently, the Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z Lens features built-in optical Image Stabilization that reduces shakes up to 5.5 stops. Pair it with an EOS R-series camera featuring IBIS, the Coordinated IS allows for up to 7.5 stops of correction at the center of the image. This enables for more one-handed operation without the need for slowing down your shutter speed. The IS Mode switch allows for quick switching between the three IS Modes available.
Nano USM
The Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z Lens has a focus drive system with two nano USM motors that power the autofocus unit. It also features a 'floating' optics assembly that moves independently ensuring maximum image quality. Nano USM motors offer quiet and smooth AF, that comes handy during movie recording. The Nano USM maintains focus while zooming. This helps to suppress aberration fluctuations that may otherwise take place during high-speed bursts or movie shooting.
Easy Handling
The internal zooming, internal focusing, fixed-length lens barrel design of this lens, in addition to the balanced center of gravity makes this easy to handle, no matter what the shooting style is. The lens includes a tripod mount with a lock release button that allows quick attachment and detachment.
