Provides a versatile zoom range suitable for wide-angle landscapes, interior shots, portraits, and close-ups, making it a perfect all-in-one lens for photography and videography.
Fast Constant Aperture f/2.8
Maintains a bright maximum aperture across the zoom range, allowing for stunning low-light performance, smooth background blur (bokeh), and professional-quality portraits.
Vibration Reduction (VR) Up to 5 Stops
Built-in optical stabilization reduces camera shake for sharper handheld images and smoother video, even in low-light conditions or at longer focal lengths.
High-Quality Optics
1 ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lens element minimizes chromatic aberration for clear, accurate color reproduction, and 2 Aspherical lens elements reduce distortion and spherical aberrations, ensuring sharpness edge-to-edge.
Internal Focus (IF) System
Only the internal lens elements move during focusing, keeping the lens length constant and improving handling, especially for close-up shots and video.
Minimum Focus Distance 0.3 m (1 ft)
Enables detailed close-up photography of subjects like flowers, food, and products at any focal length.
Smooth and Silent Autofocus STM (Stepping Motor)
Fast, precise, and quiet autofocus, perfect for video recording and capturing spontaneous moments without unwanted noise.
Suppressed Focus Breathing
Maintains a nearly consistent angle of view while focusing, ideal for video when pulling focus or tracking moving subjects.
Control Ring Clickless and Customizable
Smoothly adjust ISO, aperture, exposure compensation, or manual focus without clicking sounds, essential for professional video work.
Hi-Res Zoom for Video
Extends the maximum focal length when shooting Full HD video on compatible Nikon mirrorless cameras, providing flexibility for cinematic framing.
9 Rounded Aperture Blades
Produces natural and aesthetically pleasing bokeh, enhancing subject separation for portraits and close-ups.
Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
Ensures highly accurate electronic aperture control during continuous shooting, improving exposure consistency.
Durable and Weather-Resistant Construction
The metal lens mount provides stability and durability, and the dust and drip-resistant design allows shooting in challenging outdoor conditions.
Lightweight and Portable 11.6 oz (330 g)
Compact enough for all-day carry, making it ideal for travel, street photography, and adventures.
Video-Friendly Features
Combines f/2.8 constant aperture, VR, clickless control ring, and focus breathing suppression to make shooting smooth, professional-quality video effortless.
