The Sony Alpha 6100 APS-C Mirrorless Interchangeable-Lens Camera includes a 24.2MP2 Exmor CMOS image sensor, the latest BIONZ X™ image processor and a front-end LSI as implemented in Sony’s full-frame cameras, which combine to deliver all-round enhancements in image quality and performance across all areas of photo and video capture.
Image Quality
The Alpha 6100 boasts an impressive APS-C image sensor with approximately 24.2 effective megapixels, the latest BIONZ X image processing engine and the same front end LSI as used on Sony’s acclaimed full-frame cameras to deliver outstanding image quality with rich detail and true-to-life color reproduction. Area specific noise reduction results in low noise even at high ISO which ranges from 100 – 32,000 (Expandable up to ISO – 51,200). The design significantly increases readout speed, enabling functionality including 11fps continuous shooting, 4K recording with full pixel readout without pixel binning and Full HD 120fps high-speed shooting.
Superior Autofocus with 4D FOCUS
The Alpha 6100 incorporates Sony’s unrivaled 4D FOCUS system for unsurpassed fast autofocus (AF) acquisition time that can lock focus on even the fastest moving subject in as little as 0.02 seconds. It also boasts an incredible 425 phase detection and 425 contrast detection AF points that are densely positioned over 84% of the image area, effectively tracking subjects as they move across the frame. Moreover, the Alpha 6100 takes full advantage of its enhanced fast hybrid AF for movies in both HD and 4K. Both AF detection accuracy and tracking performance have been boosted.
Real-time tracking
Keeping active subjects in constant, steady focus is absolutely vital to capturing every important moment, whether you're covering a sporting event or documenting everyday life. Sony's sophisticated AI-based subject-tracking algorithms won't let you down, processing massive volumes of spatial data at high speed and in real time.
Up to 11 frames per second, with AF/AE
Impressively speedy internal processing and the high-capacity buffer memory mean you can fire off continuous shots at up to 11fps with after-view or 8fps for real-time preview, with minimal display lag. You can take around 77 shots in JPEG (Standard) format in one continuous burst.
Silent continuous shooting at up to 8fps
Silent shooting is helpful in situations where noise would be distracting, such as at live performances or when taking animal portraits. The α6100 can shoot continuously without shutter noise at up to 8fps with AF/AE tracking, even in AF-C mode, and with Real-time Eye AF or with Real-time Tracking.
Phase-detection AF and contrast-detection AF working together
Fast Hybrid AF brings high speed, accuracy and tracking performance to meet the stringent autofocus demands of 4K movies. More effective use of the focal plane phase-detection system enables more stable AF, while the contrast-detection AF system contributes to overall accuracy. Smooth, steady focus is maintained even when an object crosses in front of your subject.
High-resolution 4K movie recording
Full pixel readout, with no pixel binning, processes approximately 2.4 times as much information as is required for 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) recording, to produce movies with extraordinary detail, depth and realism.
E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS Lens
Great for travel, this lightweight, retractable mid-range zoom collapses down to just 29.9mm. It also features a power zoom for smooth, silent, effortless zooming. Built-in Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization within the lens ensures smooth, blur-free photos and videos when shooting handheld.
