The Akai Professional APC40MKII is a USB MIDI controller designed for seamless integration with Ableton Live. Developed with feedback from users of the original APC40, this controller is built for hands-on performance, production, and workflow efficiency.
Clip Launch Grid with Visual Feedback
Features a 5x8 RGB pad grid for triggering clips directly in Ableton Live. The RGB lighting shows clip status—loaded, playing, or recording—and supports color coding for better visual organization.
In-Line Faders and Knobs
Includes 9 channel faders and 8 control knobs arranged in-line with each Ableton track. This layout allows quick access and smoother control when mixing or editing.
Device Control and Send Bus Access
8 dedicated device control knobs make adjusting plugin parameters direct and responsive. A Sends button gives fast switching through up to 8 send buses, supporting dynamic mixing without menu diving.
Assignable A/B Crossfader
The A/B crossfader can be reassigned instantly for real-time transitions and performance changes. No need for a mouse or software mapping.
Shift and Navigation Controls
Shift button and directional arrows let you move through clip banks and control scope, enabling quick navigation during live sets or studio work.
Plug-and-Play USB Connectivity
Connects directly via USB to Mac or PC with no need for external power or driver installation. Works immediately with Ableton Live 9.1.3 or higher.
Software and Sound Pack Bundle Included
Comes with Ableton Live Lite, Hybrid 3, SONiVOX Twist, Puremagnetik Effect Racks, and sample packs from Prime Loops and Toolroom Records. This package provides a full setup to start producing and performing right away.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
