Multi-Actuator Floating Inner Focus System

It also achieves high descriptive performance for resolution and contrast at entire zoom range 45-175mm (35mm camera equivalent: 90-350mm) without changing the overall length.

New X Series Compact Hybrid Design

Although the Power Zoom 45-175mm covers long zoom range from standard to telephoto, it boasts outstanding compactness with approx. 90.0 mm in length and approx. 210g in weight to realize ultra-high mobility. Notably, the astonishingly short overall length is realized by the inclusion of 2 aspherical lenses. The zoom lever allows stable zooming with ease even when shooting moving subject. The new LUMIX G X Vario Power Zoom Lens offers a versatile zoom range of 45-175 mm (35 mm camera equivalent: 90-350 mm). Notably high contrast and resolution is assured for images shot at its wide-end, which means it is suitable for taking portrait. In addition, subject distant away like sports or wildlife animal can be captured sharply even at tele-end.

ED Glass and Exclusive Nano Surface Coating

The lens system features the inclusion of 2 ED lenses, which suppress chromatic aberration, contributing to high descriptive performance at entire zoom range. Plus, Panasonic's Nano Surface Coating technology is adopted to minimize the reflection at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) by applying the extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. It results in the super clear picture with dramatic reduction of ghost and flare.

Featuring POWER OIS

The POWER OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) which is newly integrated in the LUMIX G X Vario Power Zoom it easy to shoot super clear shots even in low-lit situations such as in night time or indoors. With the improved sensitivity of the gyro sensor, the new POWER OIS suppresses large, slow movement 2x more effectively.

Rapid Focusing Support and Circular Aperture Diaphragm

When mounted on the cameras of LUMIX G Micro System, users can take advantage of the contrast AF system and the convenient functions applied from it. Adopting an inner focus system driven by a stepping motor, the superior optical design realizes outstanding smoothness to support the Light Speed AF of approx. 0.15 second. By speeding up the aperture control, shutter time lag is also shortened by approx. 20% compared with the LUMIX G Vario 45-200mm /F4.0-5.6/MEGA OIS. 7 aperture blades consists a circular aperture diaphragm and produces an attractive smoothness in out-of-focus areas even shooting at large aperture.

Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand

This Zoom Demand helps get zoom control of MFT lenses with power zoom when using Blackmagic Studio Cameras. Now you can control lens zoom from the tripod handles and hardware is included for mounting the zoom demand onto tripod handles. This unit even includes buttons for triggering camera functions. The zoom demand can be added to turn affordable photography lenses into amazing broadcast lenses. This unit has two USB‑C ports, so you can daisy chain it to the focus demand unit then connect to the camera with a single USB connection. The design has an incredibly precise feel and so you get very fine lens control, and you can frame and adjust the lens without taking your hands off the tripod handles. The buttons can be customized so you can assign different camera functions to them! Plus, hardware is included for mounting the zoom demand onto tripod handles.

Zoom F1

The zoom function button 1 by default is mapped as a record button for recording to an external drive connected to an available USB-C port on your Blackmagic Studio Camera.

Zoom F2

The zoom function button 2, on the other side of the controller, is an identical button that performs the same function. It allows for left and right-handed control. By default, it is set as a quick zoom function that instantaneously punches into the live image.

Zoom F3

On Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro, this zoom function button 3 is set to program return by default. This would normally be a switcher’s program return feed, but can be any SDI signal connected to your camera’s SDI input. On Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus, the default action is set to auto white balance.

Zoom F4

On Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro, the zoom function button 4 is set to push to talk by default. When connected to an ATEM switcher via SDI, press and hold the button to communicate with the switcher operator. On Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus, the default action for this button is set to frame guides.

Daisy Chain

The Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand unit has two USB-C ports. Each unit is supplied with a 1-meter long USB-C cable which is connected directly from either of your studio camera’s USB-C expansion ports to the demand unit’s input port. If you are using both focus and zoom demand units, daisy-chain them together by connecting the first unit to the second unit via a USB-C interface.
