The Celestron CGX-L 1100 Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) is a fast, wide-field astroimaging system designed for advanced users. Its 11-inch f/2.2 optical system captures deep-sky images quickly, reducing exposure time while maintaining resolution. The 4-element rare-earth glass optics minimize distortion and color error, offering a wide 43.3mm image circle suited for large-format cameras.
The CGX-L equatorial mount supports up to 75 lbs, providing stable tracking for heavy imaging setups. It includes 144mm worm wheels, belt-drive motors, optical home and limit sensors, and internal cable management for reliable operation. Software features like All-Star Polar Alignment, PPEC, and CPWI control help ensure precise alignment and smooth performance.
The system’s Ultra-Stable Focus System (USFS) reduces image shift, while a 12V MagLev fan speeds up cooldown. It comes with dual CGE dovetail bars, camera adapters, and support for optional Focus Motor and WiFi modules.
The CGX-L 1100 RASA offers a complete astroimaging solution that combines fast optics, accurate tracking, and modern control software for efficient and high-quality sky imaging.
11-inch f/2.2 RASA Optical System
Provides a large 279mm aperture with an ultra-fast f/2.2 focal ratio, allowing shorter exposure times and efficient light collection for deep-sky imaging.
4-Element Rare-Earth Glass Optics
Delivers sharp, high-contrast images with reduced chromatic aberration, coma, and field curvature.
43.3mm Optimized Image Circle
Maintains pinpoint stars across large imaging sensors, supporting up to 52mm diagonals with minimal performance loss at the edges.
Ultra-Stable Focus System (USFS)
Minimizes image shift and mirror flop during focusing, ensuring stable and consistent focus across different sky positions.
12V MagLev Cooling Fan
Speeds up optical tube cooldown and enhances airflow while keeping dust out through filtered vents.
CGX-L Computerized Equatorial Mount
Built for heavy-duty performance, supporting up to 75 lbs of equipment. Features larger worm wheels, stronger motors, and improved stability for smooth tracking.
All-Star Polar Alignment and PPEC
Allows quick and accurate polar alignment using any bright star, while permanent periodic error correction ensures precise long-exposure tracking.
