The National Geographic 300x to 1200x Microscope Set turns everyday specimens into detailed observations at home or in a learning space. Three magnification levels let users begin at 300x, move to 600x, and reach 1200x as more detail is needed. A rotating objective turret and focus knob support step-by-step viewing, while stage clips hold slides in position.
Flexible Viewing and Illumination
A projection eyepiece adds another way to study what is under the lens. It can project the observed image for tracing or shared viewing. The stage includes a color filter wheel that adjusts brightness and color when transparent or colorless specimens need more definition. Dual illumination combines a lower incandescent light with a mirror system, giving users practical lighting options for different observations.
Tools for Hands-On Exploration
The set includes prepared slides for immediate viewing, blank slides and covers for creating specimens, collection vials, preparation tools, a Petri dish, a shrimp hatchery, and additional experiment supplies. An experiment guide helps users move from basic setup to practical observation activities. The included slide projector and screen extend the viewing experience beyond the eyepiece.
Organized for Storage and Transport
A hard shell case with a molded interior keeps the microscope and its accessories organized between sessions. The microscope uses 2 AA batteries for its built-in light, and the batteries are not included. With magnification choices, projection viewing, color filters, and a broad accessory set, this microscope supports repeated exploration of slides and collected specimens.
