Control headphones, active speakers, and compatible amplifiers from one desktop audio component with the Fosi Audio ZH3. This fully balanced DAC, headphone amplifier, and preamplifier combines digital conversion, source selection, headphone power, tone adjustment, and output switching in a compact chassis with an integrated display.
High Resolution AKM Conversion
The ZH3 uses an XMOS XU316 USB processor, AKM AK4493SEQ DAC, and four OPA1612 operational amplifiers. USB playback supports PCM audio up to 32 bit and 768 kHz along with DSD512. Optical and coaxial inputs support PCM up to 24 bit and 192 kHz. Its balanced circuit is engineered for low noise and low distortion, with a specified signal to noise ratio reaching 121 dB and noise floor as low as 1.9 μV.
Balanced Headphone Power
Connect compatible headphones through the 4.4 mm balanced output or the 6.35 mm single ended output. The balanced connection supplies up to 2570 mW per channel into 32 ohms, while the single ended connection supplies up to 640 mW per channel into 32 ohms. Three selectable gain levels support sensitive in ear monitors and over ear headphones from 16 to 300 ohms.
Flexible Desktop System Control
Coaxial, optical, USB, and RCA inputs accommodate digital and analog sources. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs connect active speakers or compatible power amplifiers. Bass and treble controls, six digital filters, and a bypass mode provide sound adjustment. The infrared remote, output specific volume memory, 30 minute automatic power off option, and 12 volt trigger simplify daily system operation.
UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 modes extend USB compatibility to computers and compatible game consoles. Two replaceable operational amplifier sockets also allow experienced users to explore supported component alternatives.
