Its compact body uses infrared communication to coordinate multiple remote lighting units without adding another flash source at the camera. The system gives photographers direct control over complex lighting arrangements while keeping setup organized and accessible.
Control 3 Groups Across 4 Channels
The SU-800 supports 3 wireless groups identified as A, B, and C, along with 4 communication channels. This arrangement gives photographers flexibility when balancing several remote Speedlights or working near other wireless lighting setups. Settings can be reviewed on the built in LCD panel while the commander remains mounted at the camera position.
Infrared Communication for Compatible Speedlights
Nikon lists support for compatible Speedlights including the SB-5000, SB-910, SB-900, SB-800, SB-700, SB-600, SB-500, and SB-R200. Nikon specifies an approximate transmission range of 20 meters for the SB-800 and SB-600 and approximately 4 meters along the optical axis for the SB-R200. You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.
