The Panasonic DP-UB820P-K combines Ultra HD Blu-ray playback, 4K streaming, high-resolution audio, and flexible multichannel output in one home cinema source. Panasonic HCX processing applies high-precision chroma processing to 4K HDR content, converting 4K 4:2:0 color signals to 4K 4:4:4 for more natural texture and depth. HDR support covers HDR10+, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Hybrid Log Gamma for compatible discs and video sources.
Advanced 4K HDR Processing
Panasonic combines the HCX Processor with HDR image processing and 4K Direct Chroma Upscaling. Full HD chrominance and luminance signals can be upconverted for compatible 4K displays, while HDR mapping adjusts brightness handling across changing scenes. This gives movie collectors a capable path for Ultra HD Blu-ray playback while also supporting standard Blu-ray and DVD libraries.
High Resolution Audio and Flexible Outputs
The DP-UB820P-K supports high-resolution music files including FLAC, WAV, ALAC, AIFF, DSD, AAC, MP3, and WMA. Its 192 kHz/32 bit 4 DAC architecture is paired with selectable 2-channel through 7.1-channel analog audio output. Two high-definition digital audio and video outputs can separate picture and sound paths with compatible systems, while optical digital audio, Ethernet, front USB 2.0, and rear USB 3.0 expand connection options.
Built-in Network Streaming
Built-in Wi-Fi supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac networking, and the player also includes an Ethernet port for wired connections. Panasonic lists 4K video on demand support through services such as Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video. The DP-UB820P-K also supports network media playback for compatible video, photo, and audio formats, making it useful for both physical disc libraries and connected media setups.
