The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO-X brings 6K global shutter capture to a compact Super 35 body built for cinema, multicamera, and connected production. Its redesigned 19.9 MP sensor records up to 80 fps at 6K, 120 fps at 4K, and 240 fps at 2K in REDCODE RAW, while the global shutter captures each frame without the line-by-line scan of a rolling shutter.
Flexible Cinema Recording
Choose REDCODE RAW for resolution and frame rate flexibility, or record 4K ProRes formats for established post-production workflows. The camera supports ProRes 4444 XQ up to 60 fps, ProRes 4444 up to 80 fps, and ProRes 422 HQ, 422, or 422 LT up to 120 fps. A single CFexpress Type B slot supports high data rate media, and the integrated 2.9-inch 1440 x 1440 touchscreen gives operators direct preview and camera control in compact rigs.
Locking RF Mount and Production Connectivity
The reinforced locking RF mount provides electronic lens communication and supports RED RF to PL adapters for compatible PL lenses. Monitoring and synchronization options include 12G SDI output up to 4096 x 2160 at 60p, a 9-pin EXT connection for genlock and timecode, and an 11 to 17 VDC power input. The aluminum body weighs 2.62 pounds and measures 5.09 inches x 3.99 inches x 3.75 inches.
Connected Production Workflows
Built-in Wi-Fi and USB Type-C networking support camera control, live preview, and media offloading with RED Control workflows. PTP synchronization and tri-level genlock help coordinate multicamera and LED volume production, while RED Connect can enable licensed R3D live broadcasting over IP. The integrated micro V Mount interface supports compact battery setups, and the camera is compatible with the RED Pro I/O Module for expanded power options.
