The RED Digital Cinema V-RAPTOR X 8K VV brings global shutter capture, large format imaging, and high frame rate recording into a compact DSMC3 camera platform. Its 35.4 MP CMOS sensor delivers 8192 x 4320 effective pixels with 17+ stops of standard dynamic range, giving cinematographers the resolution and exposure flexibility required for narrative, commercial, virtual production, and high-end studio workflows.
8K VV Global Shutter Imaging
The global shutter sensor captures the entire frame without the characteristic skew associated with rolling shutter acquisition. V-RAPTOR X records up to 120 fps at 8K 17:9 and 150 fps at 8K 2.4:1 in REDCODE RAW. Lower resolution modes extend frame rate flexibility, reaching 240 fps at 4K 17:9 and 600 fps at 2K 2.4:1. RED Global Vision adds Extended Highlights for additional highlight detail and Phantom Track functionality for specialized virtual production workflows.
Flexible Recording and Production Connectivity
Recording options include REDCODE RAW across multiple resolutions from 8K through 2K, plus ProRes formats at resolutions up to 4K. Qualified CFexpress Type B media supports data rates up to 800 MB per second. Dual 12G SDI outputs provide professional monitoring options, while Wi-Fi, USB Type C, and Ethernet-based workflows support remote camera control, preview, media management, and connected production environments.
The RF mount camera platform supports electronic lens communication and can work with additional lens systems through compatible RED adapters. The Gold Mount Production Pack configuration is suited to professional camera builds where expanded rigging and production power integration are required.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.
