The RED Digital Cinema V-RAPTOR 8K S35 brings high-resolution cinema capture to the Super 35 format in a compact DSMC3 camera platform. Its 35.4 MP CMOS sensor records 8192 x 4320 pixels and delivers 16.5+ stops of dynamic range, giving cinematographers the resolution and exposure latitude required for demanding narrative, documentary, wildlife, broadcast, and live production workflows. The Super 35 sensor format also supports the broad creative range of Super 35 lensing while retaining full 8K acquisition.
High Resolution and High Frame Rate Capture
Capture up to 120 fps at 8K 17:9 or 150 fps at 8K 2.4:1. Lower resolution formats extend the available frame rates, reaching 240 fps at 4K 17:9, 320 fps at 3K 17:9, and 600 fps at 2K 2.4:1. REDCODE RAW recording supports multiple aspect ratios and resolutions, while dedicated ProRes recording is available at resolutions up to 4096 x 2160. Maximum data rates reach 800 MB/s with qualified CFexpress media.
Flexible Production Integration
The integrated RF mount supports RF lenses and compatible RF to EF adapters. Dual 12G SDI monitor outputs, Wi-Fi control, USB-C wired control, Gigabit Ethernet support through a compatible adapter, timecode, genlock, GPIO, and RS-232 provide multiple options for studio and field integration. The integrated Gold Mount battery interface supports Micro Gold Mount battery workflows, while the compact aluminum alloy body measures 6 inches long by 4.25 inches wide by 4.25 inches high.
With IPP2 color management, 33 x 33 x 33 3D LUT support, integrated audio capabilities, phase detection and contrast autofocus, and remote camera operation, the V-RAPTOR 8K S35 supports flexible capture from handheld and compact builds through larger professional production configurations.
