The RED Digital Cinema RED MINI-MAG 480GB is compact solid state recording media for RED camera workflows that need high data throughput without adding bulk to the rig. Its 480GB class capacity provides 480.05GB of usable FAT32 space, equal to 447.08GiB, giving crews substantial recording room in a body that measures only 1.78 inch high, 0.32 inch wide, and 2.89 inch deep.

Fast Capture for Demanding Recording

Camera dependent maximum data rates reach up to 300 MB/s on supported RED systems. Faster read and write performance than the earlier REDMAG 1.8 inch media helps support higher frame rates and resolutions with reduced compression. On compatible DSMC2 cameras, the 480GB MINI-MAG also supports simultaneous R3D and Apple ProRes or Avid DNx recording, which helps simplify workflows that need original camera files plus an additional recording format.

Compact Aluminum Media for RED Camera Systems

The aluminum construction combines a robust physical build with a 0.11 pound weight, making the media easy to integrate into compact camera setups. The RED MINI-MAG system works with DSMC2, WEAPON, RED EPIC-W, SCARLET-W, RED RAVEN, RED EPIC, SCARLET, and RED RANGER cameras. Maximum data rate depends on the camera system, so the same media can serve multiple compatible RED bodies while operating within each camera's supported performance range.

For production environments, the media is specified for operation from 10 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius and 20% to 80% noncondensing humidity. Storage conditions range from minus 20 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius and 10% to 90% noncondensing humidity.
