It gives cinema crews a dedicated RED adapter that preserves supported lens communication and camera control functions while adding the mechanical support needed for production rigs. The adapter is compatible only with the RED V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount camera.
PL Lens Integration for Production Workflows
The adapter supports Cooke /i lens communication, lens power through the interface, and record triggering. This helps compatible PL lenses maintain supported communication and control functions with the camera while keeping the lensing setup centered on the V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount body. RED also documents added power capability for compatible Cinema Servo lenses.
Titanium Core and Supported Mounting
A titanium core helps the shimmable adapter resist changes caused by environmental temperature shifts, supporting consistent and precise back focus adjustment. The included V-RAPTOR Adapter Support Brackets add rigidity to the mounting interface and help create a native like fit when the camera is built out with PL glass. The pack also contains a PL Mount Shim Pack.
This pack is a focused solution for V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount owners moving into PL lens workflows.
