The Sony RX1R II Professional Compact Digital Camera packs cutting-edge performance technology into an ultra portable body. It features a fixed-lens design seamlessly integrated with an advanced 32mm full-frame CMOS sensor with 42.4 effective megapixels. This is coupled with a BIONZ X signal processing system which capture images in outstanding resolution. The Sony RX1R II is equipped with fast accurate auto-focusing to ensure crisp, sharp image results. Thanks to a retractable electronic viewfinder, you can conveniently compose and preview shots. With its large aperture ZEISS Sonnar T* f/2 lens, speedy AF and the world's first optical variable low-pass filter, the RX1R II proves just how harmoniously cutting-edge performance and convenience can co-exist. This compact digital camera makes it easy to capture high quality shots wherever you go.
Exmor R CMOS Image Sensor
The 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor integrates astonishing 42.4-megapixelresolution to achieve unsurpassed image quality. Its back-illuminated structure enhances light collection efficiency and expands the circuitry scale the copper wiring layer for 3.5 times faster data output. Sensitivity is greatly expandable to ISO 50-102400 for still shooting. Low-noise performance reveals fine details and subtle nuances of images. These enhancements make it possible for this Sony digital camera to deliver readout of extraordinarily high-resolution images, AF response, and continuous shooting capability, all at high speed.
BIONZ X Image Processing Engine
The BIONZ X image processing engine wisk all 42.4 effective megapixels of data from the 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor. Diffraction-reducing technology maintains sharp, fine clarity even at smaller aperture (higher f-number) settings. Area-specific noise reduction reduces noise adaptively according to image area characteristics and reproduces greater detail. The fixed-lens design of the RX1R II also optimizes processing for the lens and the sensor. That means extraordinarily fast, faithful reproduction of every nuance of a scene’s light and texture under all conditions.
Continuous Shooting
AF-C (Continuous AF) focus mode enables the RX1R II to track moving subjects while maintaining sharp focus, even when shooting continuously at 5fps, thanks largely to the 399-phase-detection-AF-point system's widespread autofocus coverage throughout a large portion of the image area.
Full HD Movie Recording and XAVC S Format
The RX1R II supports the XAVC S movie recording format, for capturing the quality of Full HD motion picture footage at frame rates of 60p (50p), 30p (25p), or 24p, and at a high bitrate of 50 Mbps. This increases your capability to express your visions in truer images that contain finer details and minimal compression noise, moiré, and jaggies.
Optical Variable Low-pass Filter
LPF effect settings16 take advantage of the sensor's high 42.4-megapixel resolution13 to deliver the ultimate image quality for your needs. Choose among Off (to prioritize image resolution), Hi (to reduce moiré and color artifacts), or Standard (to balance those priorities) settings to achieve the image character you're aiming for. Low-pass filter bracketing lets you preview effects of various settings.
Large-Aperture ZEISS Sonnar T 35mm F2 lens
The 35mm fixed focal length ZEISS Sonnar T lens features a maximum aperture of F2 and a proprietary high-precision AA (advanced aspherical) lens element, in an extremely compact barrel. The nine-blade diaphragm delivers smooth foreground/background defocusing that makes the subject stand out brilliantly. The optical performance of the ZEISS lens allows the precision high-resolution image sensor to deliver the ultimate in image quality.
