Wide Angle Zoom
One outstanding 20x power zoom G Lens covers everything from wide-angle in-car interviews to telephoto close-ups for sports. It has an optical zoom range of 24–480 mm (35mm full-frame equivalent). Sony's Clear Image Zoom technology allows the new camera to achieve 30x zoom when shooting 4K and 40x zoom in FHD. Maximum apertures of F2.8 (wide) and F4.5 (telephoto) improve low-light performance and open up new creative possibilities.
Next-Gen Autofocus with Advanced AI
A dedicated AI Processing Unit, in collaboration with BIONZ XR, uses deep learning based on human form and posture data to recognize human individuals with high accuracy. The Fast Hybrid AF technology provides 81 percent coverage, making Subject Recognition AF and Real-time Tracking more effective. As a result, the HXR-NX800 can easily track and concentrate on subjects throughout the frame.
Ideal for Cinematic and Broadcast Captures
Achieve the look of a professional broadcast or film production effortlessly. Use defaults for S-Cinetone, ITU709, 709tone, HLG Live, HLG Mild, and HLG Natural, then change the black, matrix, and other parameters as needed. Color-match footage with content captured on Sony's other broadcast and Cinema Line cameras.
Auto Framing for Professional Shots
When Auto Framing is enabled, the camera will automatically track an identified human subject and change framing such that the subject is always prominently positioned in the frame. Auto Framing allows you to create footage that looks like it was shot by a professional, even if the camera was motionless the entire time. Solo operators can focus on interacting with an interviewee without continually checking the camera position.
Integrated Electronic Variable ND Filter
Adjust the Electronic Variable ND Filter to suit a variety of lighting conditions. A simple dial adjustment allows you to switch between 1/4 and 1/128 ND. The Auto ND mode helps maintain ideal exposure, which is especially beneficial when switching fast between indoor and outdoor conditions.
Auto-Manual Switch
With a single switch, full auto mode adjusts settings and maintains optimal brightness and white balance. When set to Auto, it activates the ND Filter, Iris, Gain Control, Shutter, and White Mode.
Ideal for Live Streaming
Using a hard wired or Wi-Fi connection, you can stream directly to suitable live streaming services and video-sharing websites. RTMP and RTMPS or SRT protocols enable a single operator to easily manage everything from recording to sharing.
Seamless File Sharing
Easily transfer proxy and original footage from the memory card to a cloud or FTP site. After setting the destination server in the camera, recorded files are automatically transmitted anytime the recording is stopped. Proxy clips can also be recorded in chunks and transferred progressively while recording. The Creator's Cloud for Enterprise C3 Portal (paid) program simplifies cloud transfers, making video files available for editing and sharing even faster.
BIONZ XR Processor
Sony's latest generation BIONZ XR image processor is integrated into the picture sensor, allowing for greater frame rates, faster autofocus, improved Auto Tracing White Balance (ATW) management, and superior noise reduction. It maximizes the performance of the high-resolution image sensor, capturing even the most delicate textures and fine detail. 5K oversampling with full-pixel readout compresses a large amount of image information into a magnificent 4K (3840 x 2160) 60p video.
Improved White Balance
The Auto Tracing White Balance (ATW) function on the HXR-NX800 evolved with Sony's BIONZ XR and AI capabilities. The camera's AI Processing Unit allows for more precise ATW control, especially in difficult lighting conditions, such as when the subject is in shadow.
Slow and Quick Motion
The Exmor RS sensor's high readout speed enables 4K high frame rate (HFR) recording at up to 120fps and FHD at 240fps. Get 4x slow motion in 4K at 30p or 5x slow motion in 24p. Whatever your creative choice, high-speed AF ensures that your subject remains in focus. Slow and Quick Motion can record at up to 4K 120fps and recording at FHD 240fps.
Excellent Stabilization
Built-in picture stabilization reduces the impact of camera shake, resulting in smooth, stable film. Active Mode image stabilization combines optical and electronic stabilization, allowing handheld shots to glide as if on a gimbal.
Monitor and Viewfinder
A new 3.5-type LCD monitor with about 2.76 million dots and excellent brightness and clarity allows you to easily monitor and focus on issues. The monitor swings up, down, and backward, making it simple to find the optimal viewing angle. The included LCD hood is easily placed by sliding it into the grooves on the top and bottom of the LCD monitor, and the display can be folded away for storage even with the hood attached. The high-contrast 0.39-type OLED viewfinder, which offers about 2.36 million dots, blocks unwanted light for clean, unobstructed viewing.
