The a7 II is the world's first full-frame camera with 5-axis image stabilization and provides camera shake compensation for wide-ranging mountable lenses. Compact and refined for intuitive operation, it offers enhanced Fast Hybrid AF that delivers lightning-fast focusing, wide coverage, and exceptionally effective tracking of fast-moving subjects. An extended family of lenses and gear makes the most of its remarkable resolution even in tough field use. The Alpha a7 II also includes a wide range of other great features such as a S-Log2 Gamma setting, Picture profiling, One-touch remote and one-touch sharing and more.
24.3 MP and 7 Exmor CMOS Sensor
Capture stunning images with 24.3MP resolution, a 35mm full-frame sensor, a normal sensor range of ISO 100-25600, and a sophisticated balance of high-resolving power, gradation and low noise. The BIONZ X image processor enables up to 5 fps high-speed continuous shooting and high-50Mb/s XAVC S video recording.
5 fps AF/AE Shooting
When your subject is moving fast, you can beautifully capture the decisive moment with sharp, well-exposed results thanks to 5 fps continuous AF/AE shooting. A dramatically improved algorithm accurately predicts subject movement so you can steadfastly track subjects even when shooting continuously. The newly enhanced Fast Hybrid AF system delivers extremely high-speed response, highly accurate prediction, and wide area coverage for autofocusing and tracking you can always depend on. It’s remarkably fast for a full-frame camera AF system and accurately predicts subject movement so you can steadfastly track your subject.
Pro-Quality XAVC S Format
For extremely high image quality and minimal noise, record movies in the high-bitrate XAVC S format, which was developed based on the professional XAVC 4K/HD format. It offers Full HD (1920 x 1080) image recording at 50 Mbps and uses linear PCM sound for high-quality sound recording.
XGA OLED Tru-Finder
The viewfinder offers impressive visibility that contributes to stress-free, intuitive operation. You can accurately monitor what will appear in your final images because it faithfully displays the effects of your various camera settings. Moreover, an advanced three-lens optical system offers rich tonal gradation and extremely high contrast.
Wi-Fi and NFC
Connectivity with smartphones for One-touch sharing/One-touch remote has been simplified with Wi-Fi/NFC control. In addition to Wi-Fi support for connecting to smartphones, a7II also supports NFC (near field communication) providing ‘one-touch connection’ convenience when transferring images to Android smartphones and tablets with NFC. Simply touch devices to connect.
5-Axis Image Stabilization
The a7 II dramatically expands your range of expression by compensating for five types of camera shake during handheld shooting of still images and movies. The highly effective 4.5-step compensation lets you confidently zoom in on faraway subjects, snap detailed close-ups, capture night scenes and more- all with minimal camera shake blur.
Picture Profile, S-Log2, and Time Code
The a7II is equipped with S-Log2 gamma. Common to Sony’s range of professional video cameras, S-Log expands the dynamic range by up to 1300% to minimize clipped highlights and loss of detail in shadows. The a7II include a picture profile that can adjust settings like gamma, black, level and color adjustment, and can be saved for use in a multi-camera shoot. It also has Full HD base band HDMI output, time code/user bit for easier editing, synchronous recording feature with compatible devices, various marker and zebra displays on the LCD screen and viewfinder.
