The Sony FX3A Cinema Line Camera puts professional video recording capabilities into a compact full-frame E-mount body. Built around a back illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR image processing, it captures detailed 4K footage with excellent low light sensitivity and over 15 stops of dynamic range using S-Log3. From documentaries and interviews to commercial productions, the FX3A delivers flexible cinematic imaging without the size of a traditional cinema camera.
4K Recording and Cinematic Color
Record up to 4K at 120p with 10 bit 4:2:2 internal recording for detailed motion and greater flexibility in postproduction. S-Cinetone delivers natural skin tones and a cinematic look directly from the camera, while S-Log3 supports wider latitude for color grading. Multiple recording formats, including XAVC S, XAVC HS, and XAVC S-I, let filmmakers balance image quality, compression, and editing requirements.
Autofocus and Handheld Stabilization
Fast Hybrid AF with Real Time Tracking helps maintain focus on moving subjects, while Eye AF supports confident filming of people. Five axis in body image stabilization and Active Mode help reduce camera shake during handheld shooting. A side opening 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen with approximately 2.36 million dots makes it easier to frame shots from challenging angles.
Production Ready Audio and Workflow
The included XLR handle adds two professional XLR/TRS audio inputs with selectable 48V phantom power for compatible microphones. Dual card slots accept CFexpress Type A or SD memory cards, supporting flexible recording workflows. An active cooling system, integrated mounting points, and USB Type-C connectivity make the FX3A adaptable to handheld rigs, gimbals, and extended production sessions.
