The Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones combine active noise cancelling, 40 mm dynamic drivers, and Sony's HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 for focused listening at home, at work, while commuting, and during travel. Dual Noise Sensor technology captures ambient sound through microphones on each ear-cup, while Personal NC Optimizer and Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing adapt noise cancelling performance to the wearer and environment.
Detailed Wireless Sound
The 40mm drivers use aluminum coated liquid crystal polymer diaphragms and support a 4 Hz to 40,000 Hz wired frequency response. Over Bluetooth, the headphones support SBC, AAC, and LDAC formats, while DSEE Extreme processing uses Edge AI technology developed with Sony Music Studios Tokyo to process compressed audio sources.
Smart Listening Controls
Speak to Chat automatically pauses playback and lets surrounding sound in when the wearer begins speaking. Quick Attention lowers playback when the right ear cup is covered, and wearing detection pauses music when the headphones are removed. Adaptive Sound Control can also adjust listening behavior based on activity and location.
Long Battery Life
Battery life reaches up to 27 hours with noise cancelling enabled and up to 34 hours with it disabled. A 10 minute quick charge provides up to 5 hours of playback.
Multi-point Connection
Bluetooth multi-point support allows connection to two compatible devices at the same time, making it easier to move between a computer and phone without repeatedly pairing the headphones.
