The Symply SymplyPRO SAS LTO-8 Desktop Tape Drive gives media teams, businesses, and IT environments a compact path to tape backup, archive, interchange, and offline retention. Its single half-height LTO-8 drive connects through one SFF-8088 SAS host interface. Each LTO-8 cartridge supports 12 terabytes native capacity or 30 terabytes compressed capacity when a 2.5 to 1 compression ratio applies, with up to 300 megabytes per second native throughput.
LTFS Access and Data Protection
LTFS support enables familiar file copy, move, and interchange workflows with compatible software. AES 256 hardware encryption uses application-managed keys, while LTO WORM media support provides non-erasable and non-rewritable retention when required. Symply also supports leading LTO backup and archive applications across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
Compact Desktop Hardware
The all-metal enclosure measures 26.3 x 21.1 x 6.3 centimeters and weighs 2.9 kilograms. Integrated cooling and an internal power supply support clean desktop deployment, while a Kensington-compatible security slot provides a physical security option. The half height drive is rated for 250,000 MTBF hours at 100 percent duty cycle and 80,000 load and unload cycles.
