The Westcott theC47 Scrim Jim Cine Book Light Kit provides a lighting solution for filmmakers and photographers who need to control and soften light. Developed in collaboration with Jem Schofield of theC47, this kit includes the components needed to build two 4 x 6-foot frames that can form an adjustable V-shaped book light modifier. Its combination of reflective and diffusion fabrics makes it suitable for interviews, narrative productions, and studio lighting.
Adjustable 4 x 6-Foot Book Light System
The kit includes frame tubes and connectors to construct two 4 x 6-foot Scrim Jim Cine frames. These frames can be connected to create a V-shaped book light that bounces and diffuses light, producing softer illumination for subjects while allowing flexible light positioning.
Reversible Reflective Fabrics
The included silver/white and unbleached muslin/black fabrics provide different lighting effects. The silver side produces brighter highlights, while the white side delivers a more neutral reflection. The muslin side offers subtle light reflection, while the black side helps block unwanted light and control spill.
Multiple Diffusion Options
The kit includes 1/2-stop grid cloth and full-stop diffusion fabrics for adjusting light intensity and softness. These options help reduce harsh lighting and provide greater control over light distribution for studio and location shoots.
Swing Hinge Frame Connectors
The swing hinge connectors allow the frames to form an adjustable book light configuration. Their positive-locking design provides secure connections while making it easier to change the angle between the reflective and diffusion surfaces.
Modular Aluminum Frame Construction

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.

If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery.
