The RED Digital Cinema V-RAPTOR XE brings large format 8K VV capture to a compact cinema camera body built around a 35.4 MP global shutter CMOS sensor. It records R3D at up to 8K VV 60P and delivers 17+ stops of dynamic range, giving productions detailed image capture with the flexibility of REDCODE RAW for post work.
8K VV Global Shutter Imaging
The 8192 x 4320 sensor measures 40.96 mm x 21.60 mm and supports 8K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 4K, 3K, and 2K acquisition formats. Maximum frame rates reach 60 fps at 8K 17:9, 120 fps at 4K 17:9, and 240 fps at 2K 17:9. The global shutter design captures the full frame at once, while REDCODE RAW keeps color processing decisions flexible for post-production.
Fast Media and Monitoring
CFexpress Type B media supports data rates up to 800 MB/s with RED branded or other qualified cards. Dual 12G SDI outputs support separate monitoring views, while the integrated 2.4-inch LCD provides camera control. Proxy recording is available up to ProRes 422 HQ in 2K at 60P, helping simplify editorial handoff and production workflows.
Connected Cinema Workflow
Dual-band Wi-Fi and wired USB-C or Ethernet control support remote settings, live preview, Camera to Cloud workflows, and high-speed remote media offload. The RF mount configuration supports RF mount lens workflows, while the aluminum alloy body measures 5.9 inches x 4.5 inches x 4.3 inches and weighs 4.03 lb without the body cap or CFexpress card.

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.

You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges.
